The Legend of the Purple Pork Masters

Not long ago, and not so very far away, a group of five intrepid barbeque warriors got together and formed an alliance. These warriors, all old friends - one from Texas, one from California and three from the Empire State (New York) - set about to combine their individual skills and experience to create a new breed of BBQ: A sweet, savory, spicy fusion of the very best that the South, the West and the Northeast had to offer.

Together these cross-country comrades tinkered and toiled, tooling their spices and seasonings, until finally they were certain they’d created a unique barbeque flavor that could best the rest: at first, a sweet note as it tickles the tip of the tongue; next a tangy twang as their one-of-a-kind flavor rolls across the roof of the mouth; and finally, a signature, subtle slow burn as it slides across the senses and into the soul. The only thing that remained was to take their creation to the people…

To Memphis! To the Memphis in May International Festival and the “World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest!” The heart of the barbeque world! The center of the barbecue universe! Our warriors were certain that they had something special to share with barbeque lovers around the world, and this would be their chance to prove it. And prove it they did! Their sauce claimed 2010’s second prize in tomato based sauces. In the WORLD! These first time competitors were propelled to international heights in the barbeque community, besting hundreds of time-tested sauces from around the globe.

And so the Purple Pork Masters were born. Five Barbeque Brothers united to champion uniquely sweet, tangy and spicy barbecue in anew, all-American tradition, with a distinct cross-country flair - as much downtown as it was down South; Punk Rock and Hip Hop infused with soulful Southern Twang - an edgy-yet-harmonious musical marriage for the mouth –soulfully crafted and bottled in small batches to titillate the senses of ALL barbecue lovers everywhere.
